Yes. That is correct. Our baby boy is four months old. Further, he can roll all the way onto his tummy now and do a full push-up. That means he can now do as many push-ups as the average American! He had his second round of immunizations yesterday and the poor little tyke has a pretty good fever today(101.7*F at its highest). Still the boy is happy and smiling. He weighed in at 15 lbs. 1oz. at his doctor's visit and measured 24.25 inches. He is having a marvelous time with Ocho the Octopus and Sleepy Dog, but his favorite pastime is watching the wind blow through the leaves outside our sliding glass door. He is now almost as vocal as his mother, with just as much to say and just as many opinions - most of them regarding the current state of affairs in world economics. But, I digress. The real reason behind this correspondence is the posting of the following two videos.
How marvellous! Giggles abound in the land of Langel when Collin's about. With a whopping FOUR months of perspective under my imaginary belt I can say, with 100% certainty and the utmost authority on the subject, Collin is the most amazing, astounding, breathtaking and absolutely mesmerizing baby on the face of God's green Earth.

Video Buffet
Well. It has been a while (as I am constantly reminded). It seems the time is right for a few updates.
First: Colin is happy.
Second: Kelsey is back at work.
Third: This is all highly interesting.
Fourth: Let's watch some Collin-centric videos!
Well that was fantastic! The boy is super cute and super happy the majority of the time. In the last few days he has fully made the connection between the visual of the bottle and the happiness of eating that comes after. It doesn't sound like much, but when he is crying and you show him a full bottle and he snaps to happy it is simply confounding. He also has developed pretty steady control of his hands while he is awake. He can successfully fit a fist into his mouth with some wiggling and enjoys trying to get both hands in his mouth at the same time. Collin decided he likes watching the Golf Channel - likely because of the soft spoken commentators - and 1950's Japanese films. He was quite distraught yesterday after watching the original Gojira (Godzilla in American versions) and seeing the military attacking the Jurassic anomaly. Apart from that everything is a smashing good time.
On the medical front: Collin is on his mommy's insurance now and will be scheduled an appointment for his two month vaccinations - yes it has been two months - and will get in to see a Pediatric Urologist shortly after to discuss surgery for his Inguinal Hernia and his Hypospadias, neither of which cause him any discomfort.

Whew!
A week ago today Kelsey and I were in Kaiser Roseville L&D waiting for our little man. What a week it has been! Collin is getting cuter by the day. Kelsey is getting more comfortable. We have all slept well two nights in a row and last night Kelsey and I were on our own. Robin and Kelsey both agreed that after things went so well the night before, it was a good chance for Robin to head home and let us test our parental wings unassisted. Last night was another good one, unsupervised and everything, and after a few tears, a few deep breaths, and our nightly prayer we settled into our new routine. Well, I suppose we really are just enjoying our current routine. Today Collin's last holdout auntie is returning from the east coast and is coming for a visit. Now we just need some uncles so Collin can have some further masculine influence. I doubt he has kept count but we have had a decidedly feminine influx of visitors since his arrival. We have seen Great-Grandmothers, Great-Godmothers, Aunties, Grandmas, Cousins and friends alike and I believe Claire's Cody was the only Y-chromosome to cross our thresh-hold (Grandfathers and myself excluded). So lets go gents! Lets show Collin that men make up nearly half of the population.
In the mean time, I am sure all you ladies will enjoy Collin getting his first bath!

Collin at Home
Well, let's see... It is 5:00 PM on January 18th which means Collin has been home for about fifty hours! He is gorgeous; but don't tell him that. He is an amazing feeder and a wonderful sleeper. He is, in every way, captivating. I am sure all parents feel this way, but I could sit and watch him for hours on end. Surely the proud grandparents could as well.
When we came home on Sunday we were all tired and tired of being in the hospital. Collin had enough of those nasty nurses, with their prodding and cold hands. Kelsey had enough laying in bed. I'd had enough of that window seat/bed. All of that melted away the moment we came home. Robin was here to help us settle in and she has been an unbelievable help. The presence of a third pair of hands in our little home, especially one with experience, is comforting in and of itself and Robin has been supportive and informative in ways we never could have imagined. Our first night Collin slept for a few solid spans and had one major meltdown. Last night he was a dream. He never slept longer than two hours, but he wasn't fussy or difficult. Kelsey was able to get a lot of overdue rest, and I took the helm in watching, entertaining, burping, and changing.
It is hard to believe how entirely this little man has captured my heart and fullest attention, but with a face like this, how can that be helped?
These first few days have been an amazing experience and one I will never forget. Thank you to everyone who came to visit and for all of your support and prayers.

Collin's First Round
Well, today was as lovely a day as I have ever seen in January. It was a stunningly sunny 55 degrees out. Kelsey woke me up this morning and decided today would be a good day for a round of golf. How could I say "No" to that? We called up Grandpa Keith, or is it Grandpa Kinnard, and headed out to The Ridge to see if a day on the links would entice the expected, and highly patient, Collin into this world. It didn't work, but we did have a very nice time. I played what may one day be described as "terrible" and Keith wasn't on his game either. Today, the course won. Now if only Collin would get out here...
